big bad DeDede

always fun fighting him. nice work indeed! Cheers!

St4rWo1F responds:

Thanks! King Dedede is my favorite villian.

(besides Starwolf ofc)

Stylish!

ahh, Paper Mario 2. definitely one of my all-time favorites. i personally preferred the first, but only because of their cast for example the Koopa Bros. and other wacky bosses :P

i'm liking the instruments you have used for this. nice, good sounding synths, and the bass sounds splendid. good song, good song!

Cheers!

MyVGworld responds:

Hey thanks again for reviewing me and your grade! I actually dont like the first paper mario. My first paper mario game was this one, and the first didn't play that good. The battles were totally different than PM2.

oh how I remember this...

the music, the chasing, the unveiling of Bowser Jr. great cover! stays true to the original.

Cheers!

MyVGworld responds:

thanks

cool.

always nice to hear different interpretations of this theme. i like the style you went with here. good, minimalistic trance. i like!

Cheers!

B1KMusic responds:

thanks for the input :D

nice.

so I happened to come across your front page message lol.

A nice beginning. Has a nice, quick buildup to the main part. So far so good, I'm liking this even more as I type this review.

nice break you've thrown in here. good addition.

overall, a decent song. job well done. Cheers!

Periculous22 responds:

lol thanks for giving a review, I knew somebody would see that message xD

chill.

Always chilling to the mood to hear a nice House mix. It really sets your mind at ease, clears your mind. From the beginning I like the buildup, and I certainly do enjoy that lovely electro-lead / beats introduced 1:29. Nice beats, smooth pace.

Found myself disappointed that the song was over now, then I hear the music once again. Also, looking at the time underneath the audio player helps too :P

Amazing. Good stuff. Cheers!

PrEmoEffect responds:

Haha, thank you for your kind words. I'm really glad that you liked the beginning because I know that some people don't (not a criticism). In the future, I will try to bring the length down, but I'll add some more interesting components. Haha, and yes, the false endings always get me too :p.

meh.

I see what you were going for here, although quite frankly I do not like the sound of this. The long notes and short staccato notes don't quite mix well together throughout the song. I also find the percussion quite lacking. The SNES is capable of much better sounding drums.

I felt a better sound could have been achieved here.

I like that it seems to come together at this part, but soon enough it falls back into unbalanced chaos.

Good attempt, though I believe it could use some cleaning up. The use of the early X instruments was a nice touch. Balance everything out, re-arrange note lenghts and melodies, put more oomph into the drums, and I believe it would be much better than this. Cheers!

chaoticmarin responds:

Sorry the mix was nostalgic and built using the limited hardware of the time. I'd normally cheat a bit more by using multiple sets of instruments which was completely impossible on the SNES since instrument sets were on the cartridges, and not the SNES itself, but I deliberately restricted myself to early Megaman instruments, which do not necessarily have the best drums or even the best instrument set by a long shot. (In fact, the only thing remotely awesome about the Megaman X instruments were their guitars.)

Yeah I was already pushing the hardware past it's limit when I made this. I don't know what to tell you. Your advice sort of goes against what I was going for. Meh.

Kickin'

This is something nice and interesting to have stumbled upon. As I'm listening to the intro I'm liking the variety of the drums. Definitely some nice sounding beats going on.

The drums go well together with the synth introduced in 1:06. They combine together for a great sound, something spectacular. I only feel that more could have been done with the synth. Nice melody, though there could have been more variety, different verses.

Overall, decent song. I'm liking this!

Bump-Da-Beet responds:

i agree. i was so lost on what else to add! but thanks! i will try to fix that next time!

Unique...

My the things that result from boredom. Quite the unique and interesting piece here I must say.

Just love the beginning. Fell in love with this instantly. Beautiful woodwind sound, and nice bassline as well. The voices are certainly what catch my ear. I can't seem to get enough of them! Excellent cover!

LadyArsenic responds:

Heehee, why thank you! But yes, one day I was home alone bored and without a car or single thing. After seeing so many fans remastering the old Sonic games and making it look awesome, I was like "Well... I wonder what happens if I remaster a song..." So I camped here for like 3 hours and wrote this! And yes, slap bass for the win. Anyway, glad you liked the result of my boredom! I appreciate it!

Mmmm, vodka...

I like it! Certainly brightens up the day! Nice loop!

WerewNC responds:

Hmm. . .well it wasn't really meant as a bright piece, but perhaps you're saying vodka brightens up the day. And it certainly does. Glad you liked it!
